G&SS faculty use the Functions and Criteria developed in their former departmental home, the Interdisciplinary Studies Department. This Functions and Criteria was created by a panel of Interdisciplinary Studies Department faculty, including G&SS members, to form a document that recognizing multiple forms of scholarship and creativity and outreach, as well as their intersections, that inter-, multi-, and transdicipinary fields like women's, gender, and sexuality studies innovate.
